Can we have routine measurement of patient satisfaction in acute psychiatric settings? A cross sectional study.

摘要: Patient satisfaction is considered an important indicator of the quality care in psychiatric services. Its importance has been widely studied, but literature identifies methodological problems deriving from samples with low response rates and exclusion criteria which would seem to imply a kind evaluations less compliant patients. The aim this study test methodology assess patient received at acute ward terms its application daily routine. In cross sectional survey inpatients were given Rome Opinion Questionnaire (ROQ). Our patients, involuntary patients included, 92.3% participation rate (47 out 51), returned mean general score 7.7/9. This higher than that reported most previously published studies, shows good level both voluntary may be achieved when appropriate approach adopted. Not acknowledging reduces possibility more effective caring actions. Measuring satisfaction, through use short questionnaires, should become routine practice.
