摘要: During the last two decades, optical stellar interferometry has become an important tool in astronomical investigations requiring spatial resolution well beyond that of traditional telescopes. This book, first published 2006, was to be written on subject. The authors provide extended introduction discussing basic physical and atmospheric optics, which establishes framework necessary present ideas practice as applied scene. They follow with overview historical, operational planned interferometric observatories, a selection astrophysical discoveries made them. Finally, they some as-yet untested for instruments both ground space may allow us image details planetary systems our own.
