摘要: The mental foramen and lingual vascular canals are related to vessels nerves in the mandibular body. aim of present study was determine number location these structures make measurements them. archived Multidetector Computed Tomography images 100 adult (15- 70-year-old) patients were evaluated retrospectively. diameters foramens their distances from front, back, upper lower reference points measured. distribution with respect teeth also researched. presence canals, median lateral determined, length All measurement parameters analyzed by gender, side age group. Eleven demonstrated a total 15 accessory foramen. Median observed 100% cases, determined 32%. Significant differences results different gender groups (P < 0.05); contrast, no significant difference or side. Accessory mostly males, unilaterally on right side; also, foramen, except distance back border mandible (P < 0.05), found be higher, bilaterally, males. Variation as well presence, position size can clearly investigated multidetector computed tomography. A preoperative knowledge positions neurovascular bone is very important for preventing complications that may occur during after operations.
