摘要: We began this work with an interest in pursuing a symbolic, knowledge-based approach to the control of complex engineered systems. The presented thesis has been based on two premises. First, we believe that qualitative process (QP) theory offers potential for reasoning about physical systems, especially when they are poorly understood or capability making observations systems is limited. Second, surmise problem solving domain proceeds by iterative building, applying, and patching models svstem under consideration.
