摘要: The forbidden transitions observed in the nitrogen spectrum below 12.5 V have been studied by electron‐impact methods. Since theory indicates that electric quadrupole are preferred to singlet—triplet spectra at intermediate energies, probably allowed. This has demonstrated for 12.25‐V transition studying its relative intensity as a function of scattering angle. data on 11.86‐V also compatible with an transition. In addition, new Lyman—Birge—Hopfield bands 60–400‐V energy range indicate distribution among vibrational levels is independent energy.
