摘要: Abstract We have compared, on an individual basis, the volume of corpora allata with their ability to synthesize and release juvenile hormone (JH) using glands taken at daily intervals throughout period sexual maturation first two ovarian cycles in Schistocerca gregaria . A standard vitro radiochemical assay was used measure rates both spontaneous JH biosynthesis from [methyl-14C]-methionine, stimulated by optimal concentrations [C-2 3H]-farnesenic acid. Computation results showed that there are, during this period, changes up 250-fold rate per unit allata. It is concluded no value as indicator synthetic activity species, overall synthesis regulated mechanisms do not involve large gland cells. However, presence farnesenic acid, a corelation between glandular volume, suggesting reflects maximum final stages biosynthesis.
