Influence of Soil Drought on Plant Growth, Assimilation and Dissimilation of CO2 and Accumulation of Photosynthates in Field Bean (Vicia faba L. minor) During Pod Formation and Rapid Pod Growth

摘要: Field bean planes cultivar Nadwiślanski were submitted to soil drought (30 % of field water capacity) for 5 days at the stage pod formation (A) and rapid growth (B) then exposed 20 minutes 14CO2. Radioactivity leaves, stems, roots, pods or shells seeds was measured 1, 5, 24 48 hours after exposition. In both stages reduced by about five times total CO2 assimilation, mainly owing lower activity photosynthetic apparatus also, though less so, leaf growth. Photosynthetic referred dry weight leaves dropped 22-35% controls. Accumulation photosynthetates in generative organs much depressed than 14CO2 assimilation. exposition treated plants, contents 14C phase A, B, amounted respectively 24% 36% assimilated equalled 91.5% 74% corresponding values controls. The progressive decline radioactivity stems distinctly correlated rise plants Slightly correlation coefficients may indicate impairment under conditions synchronization processes unloading accumulation assimilates.
