摘要: Knowledge organization systems (KOS) can be described based on their structures (from flat to multidimensional) and main functions. The latter include eliminating ambiguity, controlling synonyms or equivalents, establishing explicit semantic relationships such as hierarchical associative relationships, presenting both properties of concepts in the knowledge models. Examples KOS lists, authority files, gazetteers, synonym rings, taxonomies classification schemes, thesauri, ontologies. These model underlying structure a domain provide semantics, navigation, translation through labels, definitions, typing, for concepts. term is intended encompass all types schemes organizing information promoting management, lexical databases, taxonomies, ontologies (Hodge 2000). (Hill et al. 2002, Koch Tudhope 2004). Embodied (Web) services, they facilitate resource discovery retrieval by acting road maps, thereby making possible common orientation indexers future users, either human machine (Koch 2003,
