摘要: Tail-anchored (TA) proteins are special class of integral membrane that in recent years have received a considerable amount attention due to their diverse cellular functions and unique targeting insertion mechanisms. Defined by the presence single, hydrophobic membrane-spanning domain at or near C terminus, TA must be inserted into membranes post-translationally orientated such larger N-terminal (most often functional domain) faces cytosol, while shorter C-terminal interior organelle. The also usually contains information responsible for selective proper subcellular membrane, process that, based primarily on studies with yeasts mammals, appears highly complex multiple pathways. Within this context, we discuss here biogenesis plant potential hundreds new identified via bioinformatics screens contribute already remarkable number roles participates throughout growth development.
