Defect equilibria and chemical expansion in non-stoichiometric undoped and gadolinium-doped cerium oxide

摘要: Abstract Chemical expansion and oxygen non-stoichiometry of undoped Gd-doped cerium oxide exposed to different partial pressures was studied at 800  ° C by dilatometry thermo-gravimetry, respectively. The results were modeled in terms isolated defects defect complexes successfully predict chemical behavior. A coefficient for determined using the model. separate found match an empirically predicted value lattice parameter versus dopant concentration from literature showing that room temperature, a considerable fraction are complexes. coefficients used same both displaying consistency model not only useful interpreting strain behavior upon reduction ceria based oxides, but also explaining conductivity
