摘要: Improving land productivity is essential to meet increasing food and forage demands in hillside mountain communities. Tens of millions smallholder terrace farmers Asia, Africa, Latin America who earn $1-$2 per day do not have access peer-reviewed knowledge best agronomic practices, though they considerable traditional ecological knowledge. Terrace also lack affordable farm tools inputs required increase crop yields. The objectives this review are highlight the challenges farming, offer innovative, low-cost solutions intensify agriculture while improving local livelihoods. article focuses on developing nations, with particular reference Nepal. these regions include quality area for intensive agriculture, erosion loss soil fertility, low yield, poor agricultural services, mechanization, labour shortages, poverty, illiteracy. Agronomic strategies that could help address concerns intensification terraces using agro-ecological approaches along introduction light-weight, low-cost, purchasable enhance reduce female drudgery. To package, deliver, share technologies remote communities, effective scaling up models required. One opportunity enable distribution products be ‘piggy-back’ onto pre-existing snackfood/cigarette/alcohol networks prevalent even most mountainous world. Such policies, supported by formalized government policies dedicated well-being ecosystems, maintain resiliency at a time alarming climate change. We hope will inform governments, non-governmental organizations, private sector draw attention neglected vulnerable agro-ecosystem countries.
