摘要: A study was made of the EPR and optical spectra trivalent erbium in Type II crystals calcium fluoride. The spectrum disclosed existence cubic, tetragonal, trigonal sites approximate ratios 15:20:1. splitting values agreed with those Ranon Low.The consisted predominantly lines due to 〈100〉 tetragonal sites. This established by a Zeeman pattern as function rotation about [110] axis crystal. Spectra were taken over range 180° increments 5° azimuthal angle. provided plot energy versus angle which could be used establish site symmetry purely geometric fashion.This technique is general applicability problems nonequivalent provides considerably more information than studies restricted few crystallographic directions.
