摘要: Behavioural investigations into the transmission of bovine tuberculosis (Mycobacterium bovis) between badgers and cattle suggest that badger activity in farm buildings may incur a significant risk cross-infection. However, measures to exclude from have not been systematically field-tested. In present study, remote surveillance radio-tracking were used monitor effect electric fencing manipulations on frequency incursions feed stores housing, ranging behaviour. Electric was effective preventing access where it installed also significantly reduced unfenced buildings. Badger home range core areas tended increase size when installed, although they did extend beyond boundaries relevant social group territories. We discuss logistical constraints using this context conclude is potentially useful method reducing contact cattle, within yards.
