Toward interoperable mesh, geometry and field components for PDE simulation development

摘要: Mesh-based PDE simulation codes are becoming increasingly sophisticated and rely on advanced meshing discretization tools. Unfortunately, it is still difficult to interchange or interoperate tools developed by different communities experiment with various technologies develop new capabilities. To address these difficulties, we have component interfaces designed support the information flow of mesh-based simulations. We describe this discuss typical roles services provided geometry, mesh, field components simulation. Based delineation for each component, give a high-level description abstract data model set Department Energy’s Interoperable Tools Advanced Petascale Simulation (ITAPS) center. These common critical our interoperability goal, examples several based upon including mesh adaptation improvement.
