摘要: Differential neutron elastic-scattering cross sections of elemental chromium are measured from 4.5 {approx} 10 MeV in steps 0.5 and at {ge} 40 scattering angles distributed between 17{degree}--160{degree}. Concurrently differential for the inelastic excitation yrast 2{sup +} (1.434 MeV) level {sup d52}Cr determined. In addition, broad inelastically-scattered groups observed corresponding to composite levels up 5.5 various isotopes. These experimental results combined with low-energy values previously reported this laboratory, recent 8 {yields} 15 data Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt a 21.6 result literature form an extensive neutron-scattering base which is interpreted context spherical-optical coupled-channels (rotational vibrational) models. models reasonably describe observables but indicate rather large energy-dependent parameter trends low energies similar those near peak S{sub o} strength function studies laboratory.
