摘要: Silencing of tumor-suppressor genes (TSGs) by DNA promoter hypermethylation is an early event in carcinogenesis; hence, TSGs may serve as tumor biomarkers. We determined the methylation levels p16INK4a, RASSF1A, TIMP3, and PCQAP/MED15 salivary from oral cancer (OC) oropharyngeal (OPC) patients, using methylation-specific PCR coupled with densitometry analysis. assessed association between individual OC OPC risk factors. The performance clinical validity this quadruple-methylation marker panel were evaluated discriminating patients healthy controls CombiROC web tool. Our study reports that significantly hypermethylated cases compared to controls. augmented smoking, alcohol use, betel quid chewing, indicating fact frequent exposure factors drive carcinogenesis through TSG hypermethylation. Also, demonstrated excellent diagnostic accuracy detection at 91.7% sensitivity 92.3% specificity 99.8% 92.1%
