摘要: OBJECTIVE To compare college students' perceived disease risk with prevalence rates. METHODS Data were analyzed from 625 students collected an Internet-based survey. Paired t-tests used to separately participants' 10-year and lifetime for 4 diseases: heart disease, cancer, diabetes, overweight/obesity. RESULTS Respondents estimated their of developing as lower than yet rated higher diabetes being overweight/obese. CONCLUSION Incongruence between rates calls improved public health education.
