摘要: Smoking is recognized as a health problem worldwide and there an established tobacco epidemic in Saudi Arabia many other countries, with users at increased risk of developing diseases. This cross sectional study was conducted to assess the prevalence oral mucosal, potentially malignant or malignant, lesions associated use among stratified cluster sample adults Jeddah, Arabia. A size 599 collected each participant underwent clinical conventional examination filled questionnaire providing information on demographics, relevant habits. The most common form used cigarette smoking (65.6 %) followed by Shisha Moasel (38.1%), while chewing tobacco, betel nuts gat accounted for 21-2%, 7.7%, 5% respectively. high (88.8%) soft tissue found examined, wide range were detected, about 50% having hairy tongue, 36% smoker's melanosis, 28.9% stomatitis nicotina, 27% frictional keratosis, 26.7% fissured 26% gingival periodontal inflammation finally 20% leukodema. Suspicious affected 10.5% subjects, prevalent being keratosis (6.3%), leukoplakia (2.3%), erythroplakia (0.7%), submucous fibrosis (0.5%) lichenoid (0.4%), these male gender, lower level education, presence diabetes habit. It concluded that mucosal , those suspicious malignancy linked chewable forms, indicating serious effects.
