摘要: Fluoropyrimidines occupy a unique niche in the noninvasive studies of drugs. For one, 5fluorouracil (5-FU), which was introduced by Heidelberger late 1950s as an anticancer agent, continues to be used widely for chemotherapy colorectal and other cancers. And physical properties fluorine atom make fluorinated drugs highly suitable two key imaging technologies. The 2-h 18F isotope allows studied using positron emission tomography (PET) methods, whereas natural, 100% abundant 19F nuclide use nuclear magnetic resonance including NMR spectroscopy (MRS) (MRI). Such have been providing insight into fate fluoropyrimidines at their target sites are allowing us gain much better understanding mechanism action. These methods will allow, when properly clinical settings, objective assessments whether fluoropyrimidine chosen is likely effective given patient, well development proper strategy individualizing dose regimen that required optimize patient. Furthermore, these same can also provide evidence-based evaluation pyrimidines development, assess potential effect any modulators. finally, techniques developed study document methodologies monitor assist oncology areas medicine.
