摘要: We empirically examine the determinants of decision whether or not to appoint an expatriate as managing director overseas affiliates for a sample 844 Japanese manufacturing operating in Asia 1995. Confirmation is found hypotheses based on control & coordination perspective expatriation well knowledge creation learning perspective. Information interdependence and strategic between affiliate parent increase propensity expatriates, while localization reduces it. Organizational experience country, both firm, increases probability that host country nationals are appointed. Inter-firm relationships within vertical keiretsu groups impact policies through inter-organizational information sharing countries mitigation requirements due intra-group transactions.
