摘要: Thermotropic nematic and chiral-nematic conjugated polymers consisting of polythiophene poly(p-phenylene) backbones carrying cyanobiphenyl (−)-cholesterol as pendant groups were synthesized characterized a new class optical polymers. Spontaneous assembly the backbone was promoted by liquid crystalline mesomorphism on part pendants, thereby allowing uniaxially helically aligned glassy films to be prepared for polarized photoluminescence (PL) studies. In thiophene series, found yield an absorption peak red-shifted from those monomers groups. This permitted selective photoexcitation accomplished. p-phenylene did not give rise unique peak.
