摘要: Studies on plant conservation in sacred groves provide mixed results, with some showing their effectiveness while others do not. We argue that beyond the variety of field cases, studies usually suffer from overrating rare species and insufficient consideration societal data. The sites Bondoukuy department Bwaba cultural area (Burkina Faso) were geo-referenced measured; most abundant ligneous listed abundance recorded. Their status dynamics assessed based core vs. satellite model Hanski. Data interpretations relied phytogeographical affinities anthropological knowledge society. vast majority shrines less than 1 ha, located or near villages specific landscape features, covered trees. belonged mostly to local phytochories, but subject rather high anthropisation. results support concept wooded preserve biodiversity, indicate threats an invasive alien species. location condition appeared be constitutive features: system thought involves a series (with without trees) remarkable features landscape, way life has resulted proximity these villages. beliefs promote cover so only certain extent regardless content, which raises concern may upset established communities. These have led choose humid environments set up shrines, is interesting perspective. study advocates for better social data identify key elements vegetation groves.
