摘要: This document is a survey of Performance Enhancing Proxies (PEPs) often employed to improve degraded TCP performance caused by characteristics specific link environments, for example, in satellite, wireless WAN, and LAN environments. Different types are described as well the mechanisms used performance. Emphasis put on proxies operating with TCP. In addition, motivations their development use along some consequences using them, especially context Internet.
