摘要: Conserving farmland birds is a key objective for agri-environment schemes (AES) across Europe, with number of management options aimed at providing invertebrate food and nesting habitats. We analysed territory settlement by two widespread but declining buntings contrasting requirements: the Yellowhammer Emberiza citrinella, boundary-nesting species, Corn Bunting calandra, ground-nesting species. The study was conducted on farms participating in English Higher Level Stewardship scheme to test whether influenced provision arable AES options. Both species settled preferentially localities containing sown field margins, while also nectar flower mixtures. These preferences are likely reflect foraging rather than habitat requirements. selected territories hedgerows under management, which may provide food. Uptake land owners several limiting resources very low, because uptake landscape scale wider-scale population level benefits be constrained. However, this one few studies demonstrating selection widely applied breeding birds.
