摘要: Numerous studies have demonstrated that target processing is slowed in the presence of an irrelevant singleton element. One hypothesis these responses are due to disruptions early sensory targets. We replicated this effect a resource-limited procedure. However, under data-limited conditions (e.g., brief exposure durations and backward masking), same distractor did not interfere with performance. Following previous suggestions procedures should be sensitive visual (Santee & Egeth, 1982), we conclude response times salient distractors may postperceptual stage such as selection.
