摘要: Antimicrobial activity was detected in acid extracts of liver, intestine, and stomach healthy Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). An antimicrobial protein isolated from liver using extraction followed by ammonium sulfate precipitation, large-scale gel filtration chromatography, reverse-phase HPLC, size exclusion HPLC. The (SAM) found to have a molecular mass 20,734 Da MALDI TOF spectrometry. Peptide fingerprinting partial sequencing tandem nanoelectrospray spectrometry identified the as histone H1. had minimal inhibitory concentration 31 μg/mL against E. coli D31 plate clearing assay. effect SAM on bacterial morphology indistinguishable that (Ala-8,13,18)-magainin II, shown scanning electron microscopy, which suggests disrupts membranes manner similar most peptides. This may act an vivo through active secretion or release cells during infection-related apoptosis.
