摘要: Intermediaries are software entities, deployed on hosts of the wireline and wireless network, that mediate interaction between clients servers World Wide Web. In this paper we present a survey intermediaries, focusing systems beyond simple caching proxies. We classify different intermediary into three categories, based their functionality focus: First, investigate notification which driven by end-user profiles operate even in absence connection. Then, study intermediaries developed to support connectivity, mobility, ubiquity. Finally, examine infrastructures designed extend core network for development deployment new services. Based survey, propose detailed taxonomy identify key features emerging infrastructures. Taking account recent advances trends pervasive Internet technologies, number research challenges, need be addressed order integrate next-generation
