摘要: Abstract Micromotion has been shown to affect bony ingrowth into cementless components. This study was designed both quantitate initial micromotion at the prosthesis-periacetabular interface and compare different methods of commonly employed acetabular component fixations, ie, a press-fit hemispherical titanium cup, cup with one two dome screws, three spikes, cemented chromium-cobalt cup. The without screws demonstrated greatest motion equaling 162 μm ilium, 97 pubis, 54 ischium. With placed dome, mean ileal displacement decreased by 28 (17%) 36 (22%), respectively. Dome screw placement minimal effect pubis Compared augmentation, tri-spike less prosthesis provided least amount in all areas tested. experiment demonstrates that ilium provides support immediate fixation, while (anterior column) ischium (posterior provide more stability. One does not afect stability prosthetic significantly. A fixation an added method but fails decrease or restrict extent as its is much pronounced. obvious difference between seen versus uncemented components may suggest before surgery, patients need period protected weight bearing until occurred.
