摘要: The carving of a complex amalgam restoration may occasionally result in light proximal contact with the adjacent tooth. purpose this study was to investigate strength restorations repaired slot preparation. Extracted human third molars similar coronal size were sectioned 1 mm apical height contour using saw and randomly distributed into 9 groups 10 teeth each. One pin placed at each line angle flattened dentinal tooth surface. A metal matrix band an admixed alloy condensed carved create full crown but flat occlusal prepared or without retention groove single-composition spherical 15 minutes, 24 hours, one week, six months after initial condensation. specimens stored for hours 37°C water before fracture marginal ridge round-ended blade universal testing machine. control group not repaired. mean maximum force newtons standard deviation determined per group. Data analyzed 2-way analysis variance as well Tukey Dunnett tests (α=0.05). Significant differences found between based on type preparation (p=0.017) time (p=0.327), no significant interaction (p=0.152). No difference any repair unrepaired (p>0.076). significantly different from crown. Placing resulted greater than grooves. Time had effect repair.
