摘要: Reinstatement of previously extinguished instrumental responding for drug-related cues has been used as an animal model relapse drug abuse, and is differentially affected by inactivation the core shell subregions nucleus accumbens (NAc). To compare roles these in reinstatement induced associated with natural rewards, present study assessed effects NAc on cue-induced food-seeking behavior. Rats acquired a lever pressing response food reward paired light/tone conditioned stimulus (CS). They were then subjected to extinction, where both CS withheld. was measured during response-contingent presentations CS. Following saline infusions into or shell, rats displayed significant increase sessions. Inactivation core, infusion GABA agonists muscimol baclofen, attenuated CS, but did not affect pavlovian approach toward receptacle.
