摘要: Objectives/Hypothesis The study aimed to detect the changes in adult rabbit nasal septal tissues after application of pack or trans-septal suture as performed during septoplasty. Study Design Randomized double-blind animal study. Methods Thirty-three albino Vienna rabbits were assigned into following groups: control, suture, and pack. mucoperichondrium at one side septum was elevated then put place again over cartilage fixed with either a an absorbable suture. packs removed 48 hours insertion. Rabbits killed 6 weeks procedure. septa stained hematoxylin eosin examined by means light microscopy for mucosal (inflammation damage) thicknesses mucosa, perichondrium, cartilage. Results Both intranasal sutures caused significant inflammation damage when compared control group (χ2 test, P < .05). thickness did not change, but perichondrial both increased (Mann-Whitney U Also, significantly different between groups, had thinner than .05). Conclusion is efficient useful method clinching flaps cartilage. In addition, it has nearly same effects on histological appearance does cause discomfort patient. can be preferred alternative packing.
