摘要: Abstract The cytochrome b-c1 complex has been "solubilized" and purified to a stage containing 6.5 nmoles of b per mg protein. Seven bands are resolved on polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic column in sodium dodecyl sulfateβ-mercaptoethanol medium. Five these seven have identified as cytochromes c1 non-heme iron remaining two might be associated with components or, less likely, impurities but do not belong the so-called structural proteins. is enzymatically active can reconstitute soluble succinate dehydrogenase form an integral entity antimycin A-sensitive succinate-cytochrome c reductase. reconstituted reductase shows same functional characteristics intact total number p-hydroxymercuribenzoate (p-MB) titratable groups found 11 ± 1 moles mole b. p-MB-reacted inactive reconstitution catalytic activity oxidation reduced ubiquinone by c.
