摘要: We have synthesized TiO2 doped strontium borate glasses, 70B2O3-(30-x)SrO-xTiO2 and 70B2O3−20SrO(10-x)Na2O-xTiO2. The composition dependence of glass structure, density, thermal properties, durability, cytotoxicity degradation products was studied. Digesting the in mineral acid detecting concentrations various ions using an ICP provided actual compositions that were 5–8% deviated from theoretical values. structure investigated by means 11B magic angle spinning (MAS) NMR spectroscopy. DSC analyses properties rates measured measuring weight loss disc-samples phosphate buffered saline at 37°C vitro. Finally, MTT assay used to analyze products. structural analysis revealed replacing for SrO or Na2O increased BO3/BO4 ratio suggesting network-forming role TiO2. Thermal also followed changes. Varying content predominantly controlled rates, which turn ion release kinetics. A reasonable control (2–25% mass 21 days) over achieved current study. Even though, very high (up 5500 ppm B, 1200 Sr) released ternary saturated media 7 days, system found noncytotoxic. However, quaternary glasses demonstrated negative affect on cell viability due (7000 ppm) Na concentration. All study are deemed fast degrading with further kinetics desirable. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Biomed Mater Res Part A: 103: 2344–2354, 2015.
