摘要: Hand washing with soap and water can prevent the spread of diarrhoeal diseases in areas where comparatively costly interventions, such as supply safe improved sanitation, are not possible. In this study, practice hand was instituted a periurban slum Dhaka city, surveillance for diarrhoea sustained one-year period. Rates primary secondary attacks were compared to those non-intervention area similar age structure, economic status, education, other relevant variables. Rectal swabs cases contacts established aetiologies. There large (2.6 fold) reduction episodes intervention during observation bacterial pathogens also lower area. Significant incidences observed all groups except rotavirus. These observations if implemented health policy could reduce at low cost high risk areas.
