摘要: SUMMARY Chlamydomonas Ehrenb. is a unicellular volvocalean genus consisting of 400–600 species, most which are known solely based on microscopy. In this study, newly isolated strain Chlamydomonas neoplanoconvexa (M. O. P. Iyengar) Nakada nom. nov. (≡Chlamydomonas planoconvexa M. Iyengar non J. W. G. Lund) was examined using light microscopy and combined 18S rRNA, rbcL psaB gene phylogeny. The C. quite similar to perpusilla (Korshikov) Gerloff in terms its small fusiform vegetative cells (∼10 µm length), parietal chloroplast containing single pyrenoid, nucleus posterior the pyrenoid. However, distinguished from morphology papillae pyrenoids. two species belong clade Caudivolvoxa order Volvocales, but distantly related each other. shown be sister Chlorogonium (clade Chlorogonia, within Caudivolvoxa), while represented second basal lineage Caudivolvoxa, next Characiosiphonia. Although not particularly outstanding, unique phylogenetic position will encourage further investigation uncultivated relatives.
