摘要: Culturally competent care refers to the capacity of healthcare providers at various levels engage with patients in a safe, patient and family centered, evidence-based, equitable manner.1 Given increasing size Spanish speaking Hispanic population US,2 importance delivering culturally this population,3-8 patient’s perspective,9 it seems self-evident that stakeholders need reliable valid measures patients’ experiences care. Yet, until recently, few tools have existed do this, especially for patients. In response, team investigators developed new measure care.10 The Consumer Assessment Healthcare Providers Systems (CAHPS®) Cultural Competence Survey (CAHPS-CC) assesses 8 domains care: Doctor Communication-Positive Behaviors; Communication-Negative Communication-Health Promotion; Communication-Alternative Medicine; Shared Decision; Equitable Treatment; Trust; Access Interpreter Services. Another paper provides support reliability validity survey among generally. 10 However, research has not yet examined whether responses CAHPS-CC item set provide equivalently measurement across responding English Spanish. Measurement bias refer possibility two people who had equivalent nevertheless answer questions about their differently based on or they respond Spanish.11 Without establishing measurement, field cannot discern differences reports between speakers result from different way groups respond. Multiple group confirmatory factor analysis (MG-CFA) potent method evaluating bias.12-14 Thus, we used MG-CFA examine potential versions.
