摘要: The progression of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in older adults has been associated with a high prevalence depression and anxiety (Kunik et al., 2005). purpose this study was to examine the effects COPD-specific individual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) intervention on COPD. Three adult patients moderate severe COPD comorbid were recruited from large hospital affiliated practice participate single subject multiple baseline feasibility study. Pre-testpost test assessments conducted utilizing Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Self-Efficacy Scale, St .George Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ-C), Social Problem-Solving Inventory-R (SPSI-R), MRC Dyspnea Six Minute Walk Distance Test (6MWD). It hypothesized that would decrease anxiety; increase selfefficacy positive problem orientation; exercise tolerance; improve dyspnea management quality life for results suggest decreased self-efficacy increased all three participants. overall improved two participants who completed protocol. Changes tolerance orientation varied by participant. This implications use protocol pilot larger sample co-morbid anxiety.
