摘要: Optical spectroscopy provides a useful tool for probing the structure and dynamics of solids. Over years, optical methods have evolved from absorption to more complex such as spectral hole burning, photon echoes, luminescence line narrowing. The spectrum information about inhomogeneous broadening, while latter approaches provide systematics homogeneous shapeinformation that is often obscured by broadening. When external perturbations strain or electric fields are applied, details local site can be obtained. Recently, ultimate limit has been attained, in which properties individual single impurity molecules solid measured, with all ensemble averaging removed.
