摘要: This paper presents the results of a study conducted at request Government Guyana by Centre for Study Biological Diversity University Guyana, and Smithsonian Institution. The purpose was to evaluate utility using systematic collections in identi- fying areas with high priority conservation. A biodiversity database gazetteer were assembled interpreted primarily through use maps generated ARC/INFO ArcView. data examined determine coverage completeness, while general support continued methodology making informed decisions conservation related issues, several recommendations are offered order enhance data. primary this is identification interest location eleven covering most ecoregions that need additional study. have been chosen avoid already allocated logging mining concessions or Amerindian lands.
