摘要: Objective To describe the morphology of frontal bones and metopic suture at 9–34 weeks gestation using three-dimensional (3D) ultrasonography. Methods This was a cross-sectional study in 16 fetuses gestation. 3D ultrasonography used to obtain volumes whole fetal skull mid-sagittal plane. The were analyzed rendering mode transparent maximum order achieve clear view suture. Results At 9 weeks, small ossification center visible middle each supraorbital part by 11 appeared as ‘thick eyebrows’. In second trimester there progressive radial bone expansion delineation third closure suture, starting from glabella moving upwards towards anterior fontanelle. Conclusions This provides ultrasound images that illustrate process subsequent development during prenatal life. Copyright © 2005 ISUOG. Published John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
