摘要: A study was conducted to investigate the influence of tuber size, storage time and environment on losses seed quality three selected potato cultivars under diffused light (DLS) structures in locations 2012/2013 Tigray region, North Ethiopia. The treatments consisted two environments (locations), (Gera, Gudene Jalene) four size categories [very small (20-30mm), (31-40mm), medium (41-50mm), large (51-65mm)] arranged Randomized Complete Block Design with replications. Data pertaining sprouting characteristics were recorded for 28 weeks at monthly interval. larger tubers had better ability than rest sizes. Jalene more number sprouts per F.weyni environment. In contrast Gera cultivar few numbers until week 28. So, de-sprouting treatment is recommended cultivar. Number tuber, length thickness increased increasing time. At environment, all other environments. Generally, storing (41-50mm) (51-65mm) a sustainable supply; Potato should be stored warm when short term desired; however they cool long storage.
