摘要: TCP does not perform well in networks with high packet error rates, such as those wireless links, since assumes network congestion to be the major cause for losses. Wireless losses make unnecessarily initiate its control mechanism which results poor performance form of low throughput and interactive delay. We investigate, through computer simulations, end-to-end effects link-layer retransmissions on Reno over a low-data-rate link. Our show that, by using more effective selective-reject ARQ at link layer, problem competitive between layer is much less serious than previously reported. that non-sequencing combination fragmentations datagrams base stations mobile hosts can employed without significantly degrading performance. propose modifications best-effort reduce possible adverse effect resets TCP.
