Lymphoid follicular pattern: a normal feature of the pediatric colon.

摘要: Tiny nodular filling defects up to 2 mm in diameter were seen 12 of 27 patients under the age 15 years undergoing double contrast enema. The pattern was particularly common children 5 whom a good quality study obtained. While this has been termed lymphoid hyperplasia, we believe it represents normal follicular pediatric colon. term hyperplasia should be reserved for cases which follicles are greater than diameter; will usually represent an abnormal condition response infection, allergy, or immunologic disorders. differential diagnosis and is briefly discussed.
