摘要: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most prevalent and deadly cancers in Italy. Its burden expected to remain significant coming years, although it mostly a preventable disease. Prevention screening programmes will play an important role fight against CRC. A national formal programme was introduced 2003-2005 2005-2007 health programmes, leaving planning implementation, respectively, each region local unit. In 2007, covered 46.6% eligible population, with higher coverage North (71.6%) Centre (52.1%) than South (7%). The majority used guaiac faecal occult blood test (FOBT) as first-line test. Only few flexible sigmoidoscopy, or combination both tests. quality efficacy are evaluated using ad hoc indicators acceptable desirable targets. Italy, there guidelines for population-based opportunistic screening, diagnosis, surgery, adjuvant neoadjuvant treatments surveillance, differentiating colon from rectal advanced Guidelines updated yearly. Overall, Italy well positioned Although many regions lag behind uptake they process introducing them.
