摘要: The current study analyses the impact of occupational activity on timing first births in Germany. Empirical evidence topic a country with standardized education system and credential labor market is still rather limited, despite several recent studies. Moreover, previous research usually lacks theoretical explanation why women working certain occupations are more likely to give birth. This aims close these gaps. Using German Life History Study, grouped according characteristics deduced from considerations using cluster analysis. In next step, exponential rate models estimated investigate effect clusters fertility timing. estimations reveal an accelerated transition parenthood for men unfavorable conditions. Individuals thus seem compensate dissatisfaction job by turning family. However, differences can completely be explained educational level, while effects remain if we look at men.
