摘要: The present invention is drawn to methods and compounds for photodynamic therapy (PDT) of a target tissue or compositions in mammalian subject, using light source that preferably transmits treatment site transcutaneously. method provides administering the subject therapeutically effective amount targeted substance, which either photosensitizing agent, agent delivery system, prodrug. This substance selectively binds tissue. Light at wavelength waveband corresponding absorbed by then administered. intensity relatively low, but high total fluence employed ensure activation prodrug product. Transcutaneous PDT useful specifically selected tissues, such as vascular endothelial tissue, abnormal walls tumors, solid tumors head neck, gastrointestinal tract, liver, breast, prostate, lung, nonsolid malignant cells hematopoietic lymphoid other lesions system bone marrow, related autoimmune inflammatory disease.
