摘要: Axisymmetric solitonic states (chiral skyrmions) have been predicted theoretically more than two decades ago. However, until recently they observed in a form of skyrmionic condensates (hexagonal lattices and other mesophases). In this paper we report experimental theoretical investigations isolated chiral skyrmions discovered PdFe/Ir(111) bilayers years ago (Science 341 , 636 (2013)). The results spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy analyzed within the continuum discrete models provide consistent description thin layers. existence region is restricted by strip-out instabilities at low fields collapse high fields. We demonstrate that same equations describe axisymmetric localized all condensed matter systems with broken mirror symmetry, thus our findings establish basic properties common for liquid crystals, different classes noncentrosymmetric magnets, ferroelectrics, multiferroics.
