摘要: In this review, I ask the question of what is relationship between growth and orientations microtubules cellulose microfibrils in plant cells. This should be a relatively simple to answer considering that text books commonly describe as hoops drive expansion perpendicular their orientation. However, recent live imaging techniques, which allow synthase dynamics imaged simultaneously with cell elongation, show cells can elongate nonperpendicular microtubule arrays. look at significance these different arrangements for wall architecture how resultant walls differ from those derived also discuss divergent arrays stems may important coordinating layers. role reveals some general features alignment used predict status organs. conclusion, demonstrate alternative ways elongation do not require hooped microfibrils. Such required optimal strengthening tissues.
