摘要: Von Willebrand factor (VWF) is a multimeric plasma glycoprotein that plays central role in the initiation of blood coagulation. Through interactions between its specific functional domains, vascular wall, coagulation VIII, and platelet receptors, VWF maintains hemostasis by binding to platelets delivering VIII sites injury. In healthy human population, levels vary widely. The important illustrated individuals at extremes normal distribution concentrations where with low are more likely present mucocutaneous bleeding. Conversely, people high higher risk for venous thromboembolic disease, stroke, coronary artery disease. This report will summarize recent advances our understanding environmental influences genetic control variation symptomatic populations also highlight unanswered questions currently driving this field study.
