摘要: After a long period of inadequate vaccination coverage, Italy implemented National Elimination Plan for Measles and Congenital Rubella in 2003, order to reach the objective by 2010, according goals World Health Organization (WHO) European Region. Concerted efforts have been made last years all Italian Regions, leading substantial increase coverage both at 24 months age older children, also thanks special campaign addressed school-age subjects. rubella are historical lows, although several limited outbreaks occurred 2006. However, such gave opportunity show that lab surveillance cases, identification contacts their rapid immunisation feasible able stop further spread infection. The re-introduction 2005 compulsory notification congenital during pregnancy has key role evaluation needs women fertile address risk groups, like immigrant women. Although actions need be pursued, strong commitment public health service suggest phase II measles control is approaching final elimination can reached Italy.
